Downs – "I Traded My Eyes"

A friend of mine recently posted the following on social media. As a geek, naturally I’m thrilled. But part of me is convinced it’s a trap.

I mean, rationally, I know why there are so many geek movies out there these days. We are an easily identified niche that’s willing to spend money on things we love, so naturally people market to us. With the collapse of the mass market, the biggest niche gets catered to.

But part of me remembers the dark times, when our people were shunned and hunted.

Part of me is pretty sure we’re going to show up to Star Wars 7 and find a bunch of jocks waiting to hand out atomic wedgies and swirlies.
